People adjusted (and still do) to the new forms of sociopolitical and economic relations imposed “from above.” It was due to the lack of resistance from the ground that the Soviet Communist Party managed to spread and implement its experimental models within short historical periods. The fact that hundreds of millions of people accepted new organizational forms and orders imposed from above are worthy of note. They accepted collective farms under Stalin, an anti-alcohol campaign under Gorbachev, vouchers under Yeltsin, etc. Whatever the nature of this phenomenon, it is obvious that the Communist nomenclature of the Socialist era and the post-Soviet nomenclature of Yeltsin’s era were able to realize their experiments so quickly due to the highly flexible attitude of the Russian population towards government policy and order.
